Community Non-Profits
Extending Catholic Philanthropy Beyond Church Walls
"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."
– Hebrews 13:16
Honoring the Spirit of Generosity
The Catholic Legacy Foundation of Acadiana (CLFA) recognizes the Holy Spirit’s guiding presence in the generosity of donors like you. While many gifts directly support Catholic ministries, parishes, and schools, we understand that acts of charity often extend beyond the Church.
Through CLFA, donors have the opportunity to support charitable, religious, and educational activities that align with the Gospel and uphold the human dignity proclaimed by the Second Vatican Council.
Giving to Community Non-Profits
We acknowledge that the Holy Spirit moves donors in diverse ways. That’s why CLFA accepts recommendations from donors to distribute funds to legally recognized 501(c)(3) organizations, as long as they are not engaged in activities contrary to Catholic teaching.
Donor-Directed Giving — Donors may request distributions to non-profit organizations whose missions align with Gospel values.
Faithful Stewardship — CLFA ensures that all distributions reflect Catholic moral and ethical principles.
Alternate Charitable Options — If a requested organization is deemed ineligible, alternative distribution preferences outlined in the donor’s gift agreement will be followed.
Foundation-Directed Giving | When distributions are made from a fund with no specified donor intent, those funds will be directed exclusively to organizations operating under the Catholic Church’s aegis.
