Christian Stewardship

Living a Life of Generosity and Faith

"All good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change."

 –  JAMES 1: 16-17

Honoring God’s Gifts

Managing God’s blessings with gratitude, generosity, and purpose—today and for generations to come.
Giving back in our lifetimes and after should be deliberate and thought out prayerfully. It’s the prudent management of time, talent and treasure in determining how best to plan for the care of ourselves, our families and the causes that matter most to us.

The Catechism reminds us that although God has given us these gifts, we are obligated to use them for the greater good AND for the good of our families. (Catechism 2403). It’s a serious matter to consider how best to care for our loved ones and our Church when God calls us home.

The Biblical Vision of Stewardship

Scripture reminds us that everything belongs to God (Psalm 24:1), and we are called to give back with trust (Proverbs 3:9-10). Jesus Himself taught radical generosity, urging us to store up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:19-21) and give freely as we have received (Matthew 10:8).

The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) reminds us that we will be held accountable for how we use what God has given us. And the Parable of the Lamp (Mark 4:21-25) calls us to let our light–our gifts–illuminate the darkness.

Leaving a Legacy

Stewardship is about more than today—it’s about being forever faithful to God’s call and ensuring a lasting legacy of faith.

Through planned giving, endowments, and charitable gifts, we remain forever faithful by sustaining the Church’s mission and providing for parishes, ministries, seminarian education, and outreach to those in need.

By working with the Catholic Legacy Foundation of Acadiana, you can steward a meaningful gift that reflects yourforever faithful commitment to Christ and His Church.
